Stacy is a native Kansan and a Ph.D. candidate in Visual Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her research explores the shifting role of cultural trauma in representations of contemporary American identities, particularly at the intersection of Blackness and Jewishness. Before re-entering academe, she served as the Grants and Planning Manager for Jewish LearningWorks and a Tauber Holocaust Education Fellow under Adrian Schrek, where she first learned of the work of the Farkas Center. Her personal connection to the Holocaust deepened when her mother traced their family tree and discovered several relatives who had perished in the camps. Stacy is especially excited to support the Farkas Center’s intercultural programming and help students from diverse backgrounds come together in community through understanding history and its reverberations in the present day.
