Carrie J. Schroeder

A native of New Jersey, Carrie J. Schroeder moved to California almost 30 years ago and now considers the San Francisco Bay area to be her true home. She currently serves as the Director of Faith Formation at Ecole Notre Dame des Victoires, a French Catholic elementary and middle school in San Francisco's financial district. She is a widely published author whose student textbooks and teacher guides are in use in Catholic schools throughout the United States. She first became interested in teaching and writing about the Holocaust when she participated in the Bearing Witness program sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League. She has since deepened her knowledge about the Holocaust and her commitment to Holocaust eduacation through studying at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC, at Yad Vashem, and in Poland, and through serving as a Tauber Holocaust Education Fellow. Carrie holds a Master of Divinity from the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley and a Doctorate in Catholic Educational Leadership from the University of San Francisco.
